NGC 3077
Alex McCormick

I'm an instructor teaching astronomy and physics at the University of South Florida in the Department of Physics.

The composite image on the left is of the galaxy NGC 3077 combining 250μm (red), 8.0μm (green), and 4.5μm (blue) images from the Herschel Space Observatory and the Spitzer Space Telescope. The 250μm and 8.0μm images show cool dust and warm polycyclic hydrocarbon emission displaced from the center of the galaxy by internal star formation and its interaction with nearby galaxies M81 and M82.
